Who We Are
CHild Access to Mental Health and Psychiatry (CHAMP) supports primary care providers (doctors, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants) who have questions about mental health care such as diagnoses, medication management, or treatment planning. Working with local primary care providers, CHAMP delivers mental health services close to home where children and their families can be in familiar surroundings. We measure our success by primary care providers’ increased confidence in their ability to treat mental health issues and improved mental health in Mississippi children.
CHAMP is funded by a Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant and administered by the UMMC Department of Psychiatry in conjunction with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health.
